Fiji's humid, tropical climate is moderated during most of the year,
eliminating extreme heat and humidity. Rainfall is heaviest from January
to March. The average temperature in the summer months of December -
March is 88 degrees and the average of 84 degrees in the winter months
of June - September. The warm tropical waters are great from snorkeling and diving with average water temperatures between 80F to 86F.Divers can expect a visibility beyond 100 feet / 30mt.

Does anyone have any advice about Fiji in January - is there too much rain? visibility iffy? Any comments if that's just not the best time to experience Fiji?

I just got a discount on several Las Vegas items for my upcoming trip, I recommend you take a look at www.insidervlv.com, they have a lot to offer.

I was in Taveuni area in Nov. of 2000; right after the government coup. They were under martial law. In spite of that, I never felt unsafe. I grew up in central Florida, and I have never seen rain like Fiji before. It rained 10 out of 12 days we were there. Diving was incredible. Snorkling was equally good. Long way to travel for that much rain; I would take trip in drier season. P.S. ever see the movie planes, trains and automobiles?? Good Luck.
