I m really keen to dive in Palau. Is it true that liveaboard is the best method to cover the whole of Palau? And i was recommended to look for Keith Santillano. anyone dived with him before? do u know where he is attached to now?

Hi there,

A friend of mine had a very good piece of advice --- If the destination has a unique and interesting culture, or anything worth seeing topside, then stay at a resort on your first trip and do a liveaboard the next time. In this way you soak up some of local culture and still get to dive all you want. Alternately, if your goal is simply to squeeze in as many dives as possible, then a liveabord is your best bet.--- So there you have it. I hear Palau has some great topside excursions, including jellyfish lake. You might dig through old copies of Sport Diver to see if you can find the March 2005 issue, I believe they did a profile of Palau. Hope this helps. -Megan

yeah Jellyfish Lake, filled with millions of Mastigias species of jellyfish that have no sting, pulsing in a cloud like hearts reflecting the sun's rays through their pink bodies.
