To whom this may concern:

I have been to two local dive shops here in Niagara Region in Canada. I respect both personnel from both sites. I would like to buy a new BCD in the next week or so and need some advice. I have tried both the Scubapro Knighthawk and the Seaquest Black Diamond. Both of these stores claim that each is better than the other. I figure this has to do with the fact that the stores are promoting there product line. Cant blame them. I like the Seaquest better but the one store says that the Scubapro is superior to the Seaquest and that I should not make that purchase. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. I am a Rescue diver and don't have any ambition in going technical. But I read that the Seaquest has the ability to have doubles put on it. An option that might be needed down the road.

Thanks for the line

I can't offer an opinion either way as to which BC is better overall. But I do want to let you know that if you are a PADI Diving Society member, there is a $100 rebate coupon in your member handbook. It is good for $100 back when you purchase a BC, regulator and instrumentation (computer or analog gauges). Don't know if you were looking to purchase all that gear, but I thought I'd mention it just in case. E-mail me at megan@padi.com if you'd like more information.

I am a newley certified diver so my advice does not come with years of experience. I too was looking at both the Scubapro Knighthawk as well as the Seaquest Balance and Black Diamond. I found the Black Diamond to be a bit much and the Balance and Knighthawk a bit too little. I tried the Oceanic Chute 3 and found it to be a good mix of everything. Not as bulky as the Black Diamond yet beefier than the Knighthawk. Not as tech as BD but more tech than KH. Plenty od D-rings, 3 pockets, and bigger weight pockets than KH. Also a few $$ cheaper.

Good Luck.
