Hello Everyone! To graduate high school, we have to complete a senior project. My project is creating an informative book all about coral reefs. One of the chapters in it is going to be people's accounts of scuba diving/ snorkeling, or just living near a coral reef. So, if anyone could write a paragraph, or however long you need, describing looking at or living near a reef it would be SO much appreciated. Thank You!

Hey.
I figured I'd reply to your post since I was in high school once and did something similar. Every little bit helps. So here goes...
I live on Guam. We are surrounded by coral reefs. Every year the coral spawns, which is an awesome sight if you ever have a chance to see it. One of the high schools on island has a Marine Club. They get together and dive or snorkel. When the coral spawn, they are all over it. I also teach diving, so it's a way of life out here. The main income for the island is tourism, and a lot of tourists travel here to dive. Sometimes you take it for granted living so close to a natural wonder (the reef). But we can't forget that it is out there and it needs preservation. We can't do that without knowledge of and respect for the ocean environment.

I actually live in Ohio but I try to get to the ocean as often as possible. What can you say about the coral reefs? They are one of the most beautiful things you'll ever see. But yet so fragile. There is so much color and life that it would take a lifetime to truely understand the life cycles there. I have been all across the Carribean and never get tired of the reefs because they are so full of diverse life forms. Just when you think that you have seen it all you discover something new. All I can say is you have to experience it. Good Luck on your class and God Bless.
