Special certification

I cannot equalize below 5 metres (16 feet). Can I still obtain a PADI certification for shallow water diving?

Is there any special health problem that keeps you from equalizing. If not try something I recommend to all divers. Equalize before you even dip you head below water. When you get to your descent area simply equalize and then continue to do so as you go down. It should get easier as you go. Also practise this above water to get your eustachian tubes to open easier. This is called the Valsalva maneuver in case someone mentions it. The more you practise this above water the easier it gets below.
